Where do you get your figures from? Gearbox is meant to be good for 450 bhp; it's the volvo unit.
Here are mine and this is factual:
Exhaust £1300 - Done (Stage 1)
Induction - £250 - Done (Stage 1)
Intercooler - £517 Done (Stage 1) (300bhp)
LSD £515 (Stage 2)
Flywheel £600 (Stage 2)
Clutch plate - £100 (Stage 2)
GT3071R including Intercooler, manifold, T3 flange and Tial 38mm and all pipe work - £2500 (Stage 2)
Ric Woods head including shimming £1600 + VAT (Stage 2)
Coilovers £1000 (Stage 2) (around 370-380bhp)
Synchro kit - £1200 (stage 3)
Water Methanol injection - £600 (stage 3)
Brakes £1200 (stage 3)
Forged Pistons and Rods £1000 (stage 3) (around 400-425bhp)
Solid crank - £1000 (Stage 4)
Liners - £1000 (Stage 4)
Stage 1 - £2067
Stage 2 - £6315 (work being done)
Stage 3 - £4000 (yet to pay for)
That's all day long.
I am in between stage 1 and 2. I haven't paid these prices as I have struck deals everywhere I can; but these are the prices for the kit and this is all very good equipment and I really do not know why you are saying it will all detonate at 400. Honestly, I really know where some of you are coming from. The people I listen to are engineers who build these motors day in days out, like Michael and Alan. They tend to make these statements backed by years of experience and knowledge. Nice as it is to know you believe these engines are going to go bang and cost £20k, but I will take the others point of view if you dont mind.
